Stuart Rynn
Percussion
Stuart grew up in Sydney, Australia. He started learning percussion at the age of nine, after having played piano since he was a toddler. He soon joined the St Marys Band Club Brass Band, and later played with the National Australia Brass Band under the baton of Professor David King. Some highlights of his time in Australia include playing marimba concertos with the Sydney Youth Orchestra in 2016 and the University of New South Wales Orchestra in 2014.
In 2017 he began his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, in a master’s degree in composition. He joined the cooperation band in 2019 and has been a regular percussionist ever since. He has extensive playing experience not only with brass bands, but also with concert bands, percussion ensembles, musical theatre, and several orchestras in Australia and the UK.
