Scott Walker is a respected figure in the brass community, known for his expertise as a teacher, conductor, band trainer, and cornet/trumpet player.

As a young musician, Scott was part of the renowned West Lothian Schools Brass Band, mentored by the late Nigel Boddice MBE. He also played with the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland under the legendary Richard Evans and proudly represented Scotland at the European Youth Brass Band in 2003.

Scott graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Strathclyde in 2008 and has since gained over 15 years of experience as an Instrumental Music Teacher in South Ayrshire. He spearheaded the revival of the South Ayrshire School Bands program, successfully leading the Brass Band, Senior Concert Band, and Big Band in concerts, competitions, and four European tours.

As Musical Director of Kilmarnock Concert Brass for seven years, Scott transformed the band from a small non-contesting group into a successful Second Section band. During his five years as resident conductor with Dunaskin Doon Band, he guided the band through a period of remarkable achievements, including their highest-ever placement at the Scottish Championships.

With over two decades of experience performing at the top levels of Scottish brass banding, Scott has enjoyed many memorable successes. He joined The Whitburn Band at age 17, where he played a pivotal role in revitalizing their Youth Band, later moving to the cooperation band in 2011.
