Owen Campbell

Owen began his musical journey with the Salvation Army at just ten years old, before taking up the tuba at the age of twelve. Since then, he has been fully immersed in the brass band movement, developing both his musicianship and passion for banding from a young age.

Owen is especially grateful to Dundee Instrumental Band for introducing him to the wider brass band world, and to the Coalburn Brass Band Family (Silver Band) for providing so many invaluable opportunities along the way. In particular, Owen would like to thank Bob McDonald and Gareth Bowman, whose guidance and support have had a lasting impact on his musical development.

One of Owen’s standout banding highlights to date was being part of the recent Brass in Concert 2025 victory — a landmark achievement and a testament to the dedication and teamwork he values so highly within banding. 🏆

Owen is currently in his final year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studies under Dave Dowall, Mark Reynolds, and Tony Swainson. Their expertise and mentorship continue to shape his approach as both a performer and ensemble musician.

Owen is very much looking forward to joining the band at such an exciting time and is eager to contribute, learn, and get started as part of the next chapter.
