Mae Barr

Mae began playing at the age of seven with Campbeltown Brass, progressing through both the junior and senior bands. For the past three years, she has held the position of Solo Horn with the senior band, playing a key role in their victory at the 2nd Section National Finals. In 2024, she was crowned Scottish Intermediate Solo Champion, later performing her winning solo at a concert with the cooperation band as part of their youth initiative in collaboration with Campbeltown Brass. Her involvement with the cooperation band continued to grow, featuring as a guest soloist at their Christmas concert and performing with the band at the European Brass Band Championships in Norway. She is now delighted to officially join the cooperation band on 1st Horn for the British Open and is looking forward to the exciting opportunities ahead.
