Grant enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career as a professional euphonium player with the Royal Air Force Music Services. During this time, he performed in concert halls across the United Kingdom and toured extensively with RAF Bands throughout Europe and beyond, including engagements in Ascension Island, the Falkland Islands, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United States.
As Principal Euphonium of the Central Band of the RAF, Grant appeared at numerous high-profile events, including royal occasions, international tattoos, and state ceremonial engagements. Alongside his euphonium duties, he was also a rhythm guitarist with the Royal Air Force Squadronaires, performing at prestigious venues and events such as the Edinburgh Tattoo, the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
Grant featured on many recordings with the Squadronaires, including the top-10, platinum-selling album In the Mood, recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
He holds an Associate of the Royal College of Music (ARCM) and a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) in Music Performance.
