Alan Douglas
Baritone
Alan is originally from Fife, where his musical life started with the Buckhaven and Methil Band junior band. Under the guidance of Jimmy Bogie and Ken McIntosh, Alan played in various Fife Council authority groups and went on to perform in the Fife Youth Orchestra and Wind Bands. Alan left Buckhaven and Methil to join the Tullis Russell Mills Band in 1998 and had spells with Bathgate & Kingdom Brass before returning to Tullis Russell Mills Band helping the band from 3rd to Championship Section. In 2016, he signed as second baritone for the Whitburn Band enjoying much contest success before joining the Cooperation Band in April 2020. Alan works for an insurance repair contractor as the Scottish Regional Operations Manager.
