Alan Douglas

Alan hails from Fife, where his musical journey began with the Buckhaven and Methil Band junior band. Under the mentorship of Jimmy Bogie and Ken McIntosh, he participated in various Fife Council authority groups and further honed his skills by performing with the Fife Youth Orchestra and Wind Bands. In 1998, Alan transitioned from Buckhaven and Methil to join the Tullis Russell Mills Band. He later had successful stints with Bathgate and Kingdom Brass before returning to Tullis Russell Mills Band, where he contributed to the band’s rise from the 3rd Section to the Championship Section.

In 2016, Alan signed with the Whitburn Band on baritone, achieving notable contest successes before moving to the Cooperation Band in April 2020. Beyond his musical endeavors, Alan serves as Operations Director for an insurance repair contractor.
