Now the dust has settled we wanted to say thank you to the many people who made our historic win at Brass in Concert possible!
Firstly, thank you to all of you for the amazing amount of messages and responses on our socials over the last 48 hours, we are delighted that La Premiere was received so warmly.
We want to say a huge congratulations to Alex Ramsay who took home the Best Prinicipal Cornet award and also Stephanie Kennedy who took home the Best Flugel. Alongside them Chris Flynn was on top form perfoming the new euphonium solo – Sergei, the puppet master!
We loved working with the one and only Elizabeth Marzella McNally who connected our performance as Coco Chanel. We are so grateful and Biffy is just one of the band now!
It was a privelage to be playing newly commisioned music and we want to say thank you to Andrew Duncan, Lucy Pankhurst – Composer, Simon Dobson & Howard Snell. The band loved playing the music and it was safe to say the audience loved them as well.
We were so grateful to have Kerryn Logan on board this year for our lighting and multimedia which added so much to our performance and also to the funders – The Hinrichsen Foundation, Cockaigne Fund and the private donors – it wouldn’t have been possible without them!
Brass in Concert is a special event which is ran so smoothly, a special shout out to Jess Wilson who made sure all bands are setup for success before we even arrive!
There are so many others connected with the band that made this all possible and for that we are very grateful.
Lastly this simply wouldn’t have been possible without our Principal Conductor Katrina Marzella Wheeler who came up with the whole vision and concept behind La Premiere, we are so grateful and can’t wait to journey together and see what 2026 has in store for us!
