Gordon Kyle

The position of Soprano Cornet is supported by Douglas Brown, Stomvi and Mr & Mrs Kyle

Gordon has been Soprano cornet at the cooperation band since 2015. He previously played with Kirkintilloch Band on Cornet and Kirkintilloch Kelvin Brass on Soprano cornet. Over the years Gordon has won several Best cornet/Soprano/Instrumentalist awards including the Gavin Lindsay award for Best Soprano at the Scottish Championships in 2019. Over the years Gordon has appeared with Tredegar, Faireys, Grimethorpe and Brighouse & Rastrick band. In 2026 Gordon proudly became a Stomvi Artist and plays a Copper Bell Stomvi Titan HE Soprano Cornet. Outside of banding Gordon is an Optometrist and owns Miller & McClure Opticians in Paisley. He is married to Jayne, has 2 children, Andrew and Kirsty and a Minature Schnauzer called Stella
