Owen began his musical journey with the Salvation Army at just 10 years old, taking up the tuba at 12, and has been immersed in banding ever since.
Owen would like to extend a huge thank you to Dundee Instrumental Band for introducing him to the brass band movement, and to Coalburn Brass Band Family (Silver Band) for providing so many fantastic opportunities along the way. In particular Owen wanted to thank Bob McDonald & Gareth Bowman for the impact they have had.
Owen has shared his banding highlight so far has been the recent win at Brass in Concert 2025!
Owen is currently in his final year at the RCS being taught by Dave Dowall, Mark Reynolds & Tony Swainson.
He’s really looking forward to joining the band at such an exciting time and can’t wait to get started.
