Welcome to the Band, Leigh Price!
We are absolutely thrilled to officially welcome Leigh Price back to the Cooperation Band!
Leigh began playing the trumpet in 2005 at just 10 years old. His passion and dedication were evident early on, leading him to attend the Junior Conservatoire at RCS in 2011 while still at school. During this time, he served as principal trumpet of the North Lanarkshire Schools Wind Band.
In 2013, Leigh’s brass band journey began when he took up the cornet with the University of Glasgow Brass Band. His introduction to contesting came in 2014 with Bathgate Band, where he held positions on solo cornet and flugelhorn.
Leigh first joined “The Co” in early 2017, but his career took him to London in 2018, where he continued to excel, playing solo cornet with the Epsom & Ewell Band. Upon his return to Scotland, Leigh played with both Newmains Band and Unison Kinneil, demonstrating his versatility and musicianship as a solo cornetist.
In 2024, Leigh reconnected with The Co, assisting us at both the British Open and Brass in Concert. After a brief guesting stint with Bathgate Band, we are thrilled that Leigh has decided to make his return permanent.
Outside of his brass band commitments, Leigh continues to expand his musical horizons, playing trumpet with the Michael Brawley Big Band and embracing opportunities to make music in a variety of settings.
We are so excited to have Leigh’s exceptional talent and experience back with us. Please join us in giving Leigh a warm welcome and wishing him every success as part of the Cooperation Band family!
