Cooperation Band Leads the 2024 Scottish Bands of the Year
The cooperation band has been named Scottish Band of the Year for the Championship Section in 2024, capping off a year of exceptional performances across Scotland’s brass band community. This annual recognition celebrates the dedication and musical excellence of bands in all sections.
Championship Section Highlights
The cooperation band earned the top spot in the Championship Section with 38 points, reflecting their impressive results in competitions throughout the year. They are joined at the top of the rankings by Whitburn, with 22 points, and Kirkintilloch Kelvin and Kingdom Brass, both securing 17 points.

Celebrating Success Across All Sections
The awards also recognised leading bands in other sections, each showcasing remarkable talent and commitment:
- First Section: The Kirkintilloch Band took the top spot with an impressive 42 points, followed by Granite City Brass and Bo’ness & Carriden, tied with 24 points each.
- Second Section: Clackmannan District led the way with 32 points, closely followed by Newmains & District Band at 28 points.
- Third Section: Perthshire Brass secured first place with 25 points, just ahead of Croy Silver with 23 points.
- Fourth Section: Buckhaven & Methil Miners achieved the highest score with 35 points, followed by Bon-Accord Silver ‘B’ with 27 points.
